Lead E&I Engineer in (Petro)Chemistry

Job content:

As a Team Leader here are your main responsibilities:

  • You manage a team of 5 to 10 project engineers;
  • You are able to translate the customer’s needs and expectations into concrete technical solutions;
  • You control all the work that is done by your team, thus ensuring the quality delivered;
  • You are in charge of the planning of the activities and the budget follow-up;
  • You monitor your team’s progression and time sheets;
  • You are also responsible for supervising the work done by the subcontractors onsite;
  • You report to the client during weekly meetings, you also report to the global Project Manager and the Head of Department of Worley.

Here is an overview of the technical disciplines that will be covered:

  • The electrical infrastructure (Motors, MCCs, VFDs, security cabinets, switchgears, transformers);
  • The cable and network calculations and security settings;
  • The instrumentation for process variables / parameters (temperature, pressure,…), analysers, drafting and reviewing specifications;
  • Specify and assess instruments and valves for ESD;
  • Instrumentation details for P&IDs;
  • Attend and assess FAT / SAT.

Your profile:

  • You hold a Master degree in in electrical or electromechanical engineering
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and instrumentation projects;
  • You have built this experience in the (petro)chemical industry;
  • You have several years of experience as a team leader;
  • You have excellent communication skills and are a genuine decision-taker;
  • You are professionally proficient in Dutch and English.

For major (10+ M€) infrastructure projects in terms of buildings and railways -for example the construction of a new workshop for electric buses or a new tram line- the PMO team is developing clear standards and a well-defined transversal methodology among all disciplines involved: building, energy, signaling and railways. As Manager of the PMO team, your responsibilities include:

  • You contribute to the strategy development of the Project department and to its action plans for the upcoming years;
  • In a transversal perspective you coordinate the further implementation of standardization, in terms of communication & team work, methodology and software tools;
  • You manage the day-to-day operations of your team: coaching of your team members, development of new software tools, guidance, implementation and follow-up of new best practices, definition of KPI’s…
  • You constantly strive to improve collaboration with all the technical teams within the Infrastructure division. You also represent your team with external stakeholders;
  • For every project, your team defines the framework to find optimal solutions in terms of technicity, budget and planning. A good collaboration between the PMO Engineers and the Project Managers is key.

Your profile :

  • You have an Engineering degree in one of following fields: electromechanics, civil engineering, electricity & automation;
  • You have a clear experience in developing standardization procedures and PM methodologies, ideally for an engineering company or a PMO department;
  • You have built this expertise in one or several of these fields: buildings, energy, railways;
  • These are you main qualities: talent for coaching and decision-taking, eye for cross-departmental collaboration and multi-stakeholder communication, a knack for process improvement and standardization, focus on tangible results;
  • On a technical level, you are more a generalist rather than a specialist;
  • Knowledge of BIM or railway techniques is a plus;
  • French and Flemish: you are fluent in at least one of these 2 languages and preferably have good bases in the other.

Within Global Operations, your mission is to manage, for the Group, the project’s expediting and quality department, in relation with the supply of all components of SPGDC products: steel structures, ducting, piping, static & rotating mechanical equipment and E&I. You interface with different departments of the Company such as engineering, project managers, supply chain, sales, as well as with suppliers and clients.

  • Organization and Schedule
    • Scheduling team assignments, allocate resources, define priorities;
    • Appoint/Schedule 3rd party Expeditors/Inspectors as per project needs;
    • Organize proper recording and remedy of Non Conformity Reports and Concession Requests.
  • Expediting and Progress Reporting
    • Ensure timely and complete delivery of the ordered components;
    • Organize, coordinate and ensure successful client and third party inspection at SPGDC supplier workshop;
    • Ensure timely collection of fabrication documentation including shipping documents;
    • Organize and ensure fabrication progress reporting, progress tracking of suppliers;
    • Identify proactively progress deviations and enforce remedial actions with supplier.
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure issuance of the Quality Control Plan for the components of the projects to meet the project contractual specifications and requirements;
    • Organize the review of the vendors Inspection and Tests plan, welding and fabrication procedure, certifications;
    • Deal with fabrication quality issue to meet project specifications;
    • Provide technical expertise in complex case, whether at sales, engineering project management or supply chain request;
    • Ensure collection and preparation of Final quality dossier.
  • Develop the SPX DC Expediting & Quality Control Team
    • Recruit as needed by project and geographical needs;
    • Evaluate employee/team member performance through review of objectives and Identify staff development and training needs;
    • Lead and motivate your team.
  • Quality Systems Management
    • Manage the Group QSM;
    • Manage ISO (or other) audit, whether from certification parties or from client;
    • Manage, with the construction manager, site specific quality and HSE conformities.

Your profile :

  • Engineering degree or equivalent by experience in the metallurgy, mechanical, construction industry. Welding engineer (IWE), or Welding Technologist (IWT) is an asset;
  • Experience in an international industrial environment, preferably for EPC projects;
  • Proven experience in leading a team;
  • Seasoned in quality documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP), welding book, material certificates, material test report, traceability, NDE procedure and report;
  • Familiar with steel structure, ducting and piping works, rotating equipment;
  • Familiar with design codes and fabrication norms (ASME, ISO and EN);
  • At ease with fabrication process such as cutting, rolling, drilling, welding, cleaning…;
  • Experience in QMS management and/or ISO9001 certification;
  • Strong ability to liaise effectively with and build bridges between departments
  • Open for short international trips (15-20% of the time).

Dans ce rôle, vous êtes le bras droit du manager de l’équipe de consultance environnementale, une équipe en plein développement. Voici vos responsabilités principales :

  • La réalisation d’études d’incidences;
  • La réalisation de dossiers de demandes de permis ;
  • La réalisation de projets de technical due diligence ;
  • La réalisation de dossiers techniques dans le cadre des directes européennes IED ;
  • Le développement de nouveaux projets en systèmes de management environnemental (ISO 14000) ;
  • Pour tous ces projets, vous assurez la gestion globale : gestion technique, gestion du planning et des budgets, gestion des clients et autres intervenants externes (administrations publiques, riverains…);
  • En plus de cela, vous assistez votre manager dans l’encadrement et le coaching des membres juniors de l’équipe.

Votre Profil :

  • Vous avez un diplôme supérieur en sciences environnementales ou en ingénierie;
  • Vous avez déjà plusieurs années d’expérience en gestion de projets de consultance environnementale, en particulier en études d’incidences;
  • Toute expérience en d’autres types de projets environnementaux est un sérieux atout : demande de permis, technical due diligence, IED, ISO 14000 ;
  • Vous avez des capacités de coaching et montrez de l’intérêt pour la formation de profils plus juniors ;
  • Vous avez d’excellentes capacités de rédaction, être rigoureux et précis ;
  • Vous faites preuve de vivacité d’esprit et de prise d’initiative ;

Site Manager in Civil Works

Job content:

You will be a key member of the largest civil works project of STIB: the construction of the new metro line 3. Around Midi station, underground works for a total of 175M€ will be realized as from early 2020. As Site Manager, you will coordinate and manage the general contractors on site, keeping in mind following 3 fundamental elements: quality, time and costs:

  • On a daily basis, you monitor the works that are being performed by the contractors. You are supported by your Site Supervisors;
  • You take the lead during site meetings and accordingly manage the state of progress of the works;
  • You also coordinate the communication with following stakeholders: the city of Brussels, public utility companies (Elia, Sibelga, Vivaqua) and other technical departments within STIB;
  • You manage the on-site works in terms of planning and finance;
  • You guarantee a thorough follow-up of all technical documentation;
  • You analyse the requests of the contractors and discuss possible extra works with them;
  • For future projects: you are involved in the preparation of the call for tenders and in the technical follow-up of the offers.

Your profile :

In this position you are responsible for the execution and follow-up of several development projects of the Reynaers product line in Building Façades. Concretely:

  • During the whole product cycle -from development request until commercialization- you closely coordinate the development projects on a technical level, while taking into account planning, quality, potential risks and product price;
  • You translate the technical challenges into the most optimum and efficient solutions in Inventor 3D, in collaboration with a team of draftsmen.
  • You validate your ideas through life size experimental setups in our unique test facility (test wall of 15m height) and in testing facilities abroad, e.a. for acoustic, fireproof and explosion proof tests;
  • You collaborate closely with the senior experts, suppliers & product management to make sure the Reynaers systems are realised timely and within specifications. You continuously liaise with key partners both internally and externally.
  • You ensure the products remain at the forefront of the industry. You take initiative and formulate improvements towards technical high-end/state-of-the-art solutions. Within your own field of expertise, you make suggestions towards Product Management on possible innovations and/or improvements.
  • You make sure that all documentation & information related to market introduction and support of your development is correct and available at launch.

Your profile :

  • You hold a higher degree in Electromechanics or Construction;
  • You preferably have a first working experience in construction/building or in an area related to industrial product development, such as heavy machinery;
  • You are experienced in CAD design and preferably already work on Inventor;
  • On a technical level, you have a knack for structural calculations and/or manufacturing technologies for materials such as aluminium, steel, polymers, rubber…

As a Product Specialist, you are the technical referent and person of contact for all issues related to the machinery within the company. These are your core responsibilities:

  • Handle all clients’ request from the sales team prior to the offer;
  • Be in charge of the contacts with the production factories. Those contacts will mainly be to receive information about changes in equipment, material…
  • Act as a technical referent for the machinery and give formations to employees when necessary;
  • You are in charge of defining the price lists;
  • Determine which suppliers are best and compatible with the customized requests from the clients, in terms of prices, insurances, warranties, availabilities…
  • You will be closely working with the sales team; as you can occasionally accompany them during clients’ meeting in order to be the technical person of contact;
  • You will have to encode all the requests into the sales configurator for parts, equipment, prices… This will be an important task at least during the first weeks of the job;
  • You will act as a contact person with the Business Administration team for handling client’s requests;
  • Another important task would be to attend all events related to SMT’ activities and act as the technical referent for the machines as well as discover potential partners during these events;
  • After-sales activities will play an important role as well in your tasks, as you are expected to take part in client visits to make sure the machinery works properly.

Your profile:

  • You have proven experience in a product, project and/or sales environment related to mechanics and preferably heavy machinery, automotive and/or material handling machinery;

Key strategic projects in infrastructure have been launched over the last few years to upgrade the HV grid. This way, it can successfully embrace nowadays and tomorrow’s energy challenges: better interconnectivity with neighbouring countries and integration of offshore wind farms within the national grid. Job content :

Your team consist of 7 experienced designers and is part of the Engineering department of Elia. More specifically, it is dedicated to the design of the Telecom systems of the HV lines.

As the leader of this team, these will be your core responsibilities:

  • Planning of the activities:
    • Evaluate the workload of each individual in a fair and balanced way.
    • Conduct analyses that can lead to adaptations in the overall planning, both in terms of resources and time.
  • Team supervision (technical and organisational):
    • Organize the knowledge transfer within your team;
    •  Monitor the training path of your employees (both at technical level and soft skills);
    • Act as a coach in order to motivate your team;
    • You manage your team on a daily basis, ensure evaluations and performance management, you organize trainings and workshops whenever relevant.
  • Quality Management:
    • It is your responsibility to make sure quality standards are always respected on any of your projects’ team;
    • Organize and monitor the quality control process;
    • Organize “feedbacks” within your team and towards expertise services.
  • Transversal Collaboration:
    • Explain, debate and defend studies internally (Elia Engineering), with outsourcing partners or internal service responsible for commissioning tests (MAC / Telecontrol / Datacom) in more complex situations.
    • Assist the Project leaders in technical meetings with external clients.

Your profile :

  • You have a bachelor degree related to Energy, Electricity or Electromechanics or equivalent by experience;
  • You have at least 5 years of electrical design experience. Prior experience in energy or telecommunication equipment is a plus, but not mandatory;
  • You either have a first experience in people management or you consider yourself capable of leading a team;
  • You enjoy the engineering side of projects and would like to continue to develop your technical knowledge;
  • Flemish & French: you are fluent in at least one of these 2 languages and preferably have good bases in the other.

As Unit Manager, you are responsible for the quality of the projects executed by your team. At the same time, you ensure the global management of your team. Consequently, you have a challenging and diversified scope of responsibilities, including:

  • People Management: You are leading your team by coaching and assessing your team members. You are in charge of developing their skills and offer them a motivating career path;
  • Project Management: You make sure that all the project managed by your team are executed according to high-level standards in terms of: quality, client management, planning, budgeting, reporting;
  • Client Management: Thanks to your experience, you can effectively guide your clients and translate their needs into an efficient and solution-oriented concept;

Your profile :

  • You have a higher degree in environmental sciences or engineering;
  • You have several years of experience in soil remediation and are seasoned in project & client management;
  • A first experience in people management is a plus, but not mandatory;
  • You display skills related to entrepreneurship. You are a decision-taker, a self-starter and have a knack for seizing business opportunities;
  • You have excellent communicational and interpersonal skills, both to manage your team and your clients;
  • Depending on the office you will lead, you have to be fluent in French (Gembloux & Brussels) or in Flemish (Izegem). For the Brussels office, a good basis of Flemish is ideally expected.

As Customer Service Coordinator, you will be supervising three different teams and report directly to the Customer Service Manager. You are the key person between your team and your clients. Your goal is to guarantee a maximal availability of the customers’ services and machines. These are your core responsibilities:

 

  • You manage 10 persons divided in 3 teams: Spare Parts, Business Administration & Special Products;
  • You are in charge of coordinating and organizing those teams making sure that every step in the process is followed as expected from order to delivery;
  • You guarantee the correct use of the new ERP System, with a focus on accurate invoicing;
  • You ensure account management on existing clients and business development for new potential clients. You are in charge of contract management;
  • You ensure a thorough communication towards the client, who consider you as a reliable partner as you will be the main contact between SMT and Volvo;
  • You permanently coach and assess your team and stimulate their personal development through participation in trainings of both hard and soft skills;
  • You are in charge of the price listing and participate in marketing campaigns in order to promote your products;

Your profile:

  • You have a technical background, related to mechanics and preferably heavy machinery, automotive and/or material handling machinery;
