Job content

As a member of the HSE team (currently 5 colleagues) you provide key contributions to various projects conducted for major industrial and corporate players in Belgium, the Benelux and, occasionally, on a more international level. Your main responsibilities include:

  • You consult on Health, Safety and Environmental management systems, such as ISO or OHSAS.
  • You perform HSE Compliance Audits and participate in HSE Due Diligence projects for mergers and acquisitions.
  • You conduct environmental permitting and offer general operational HSE support.
  • Client Management: depending on the client, you act as SPOC or manage the client together with your colleagues. In any case, you manage your projects from A to Z, in terms of content, planning and finances (quotations, budget management, invoicing).
  • Business development: you understand your clients’ needs and expectations, thus developing new projects with them. Thanks to your own professional network, you also seize opportunities to start projects with new clients.
  • In close collaboration with international colleagues, you contribute to projects dedicated to topics such as carbon footprint, carbon capture, sustainability and renewable energy.
  • You deliver external and internal HSE training and guide junior staff members on project-related tasks.

Your profile 

  • You hold a Master’s degree in HSE specifically or more generally in engineering or sciences.
  • You have several years of experience working on HSE projects, whether as consultant or on corporate level.
  • You are familiar with management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Depending on the region you will work for, you are familiar with the HSE regulations in Flanders or Wallonia.
  • Same goes for your linguistic skills: you are fluent whether in Flemish or in French. In any case, you are also professionally proficient in English.
  • You are able to seize new business opportunities thanks to your commercial flair.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
  • You enjoy working in a team with lots of interaction and exchange of knowledge, both on local and international level.
  • You are open to work at least 3 days/week from the office, whether in Oudenaarde or in Herstal.

Production Site Manager

Job content

You are in charge of the day-to-day management of one production site, with a yearly turnover of € 6 M. These are your main responsibilities:

  • People Management: you manage a team of 15 people on average (both in production and logistics). You are responsible for all HR-related topics: recruitment, personal appraisals, work schedule, holiday planning…
  • Productivity & economic management: you make sure that the production plant runs in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. You follow up on the timely delivery of raw materials by the suppliers. You assess and plan the human and material resources that are required to reach the production targets on a daily basis.
  • Client management: you work in tandem with the Account Manager of your site to make sure that the production is well-aligned with the client orders. Depending on the timing of the deliveries to the construction sites of the clients, you make sure the fleet is efficiently dispatched.
  • HSE: you embody the company safety culture and make sure that all safety procedures are respected by your team, both on the plant and on the construction sites. You implement future HSE improvement plans. You are the person of reference for local communities and public authorities regarding HSE-matters.
  • Maintenance & Quality: you make sure all actions in terms of first level maintenance are taken on a daily basis, both for the production facilities and the truck fleet. For long-term maintenance and engineering projects you meet on a monthly basis with the Operations Manager of the division. You have similar meetings with the Quality Engineer, as you are responsible for the quality of production.
  • Reporting: you make sure that all daily operations related to your staff, the production plant and the fleet are reported according to the company internal processes. You report to the Operations Manager.

Your profile 

  • You hold an academic degree (or equivalent by experience), preferably in a technical field such as (electro)mechanics, industrial production, automation, process technology …
  • You have several years of experience working in industrial production, ideally in a field where just-in-time production and delivery of goods is key.
  • You have solid organizational skills and like to lead by example. You are used to coach, inspire and coordinate colleagues and other stakeholders. You have the right personality and mindset to manage a team of blue collars.
  • You enjoy operational management on a day-to-day basis and have a hands-on & no-nonsense approach.
  • You have a broad understanding of all aspects that need to be taken into account for running a production site: economics, supply chain, sales, maintenance, QHSE, logistics…
  • You show resilience and flexibility in a work environment that requires anticipation, adaptability, and swift decision-taking.
  • You are an effective communicator and can work in Flemish and French.

Operations Manager

In this role, you are responsible for the operational management of 5 production sites based in Flanders. These sites represent a yearly turnover of € 30 M. You report to the Division Director on Belgian level. This is the scope of your role:

Operations

  • You oversee the daily production of the 5 sites, with every Site Manager reporting to you.
  • You guarantee a good collaboration between Operations & Sales, thus ensuring a good balance between the production & distribution KPI’s and the sales objectives.
  • You closely work with HR in terms of recruitment and trainings.
  • Together with the Division Director, you develop and implement projects and processes to improve the workflow and modernize the sites.
  • You are responsible for the yearly operational budget and the cost management.

Maintenance

  • You coordinate the Maintenance Supervisor of the 5 sites, who manages a mobile team of technicians in your region.
  • You define the planning for preventive and corrective maintenance, both for the on-site equipment & machinery and the fleet.
  • You manage the annual maintenance budget.

Health & Safety

  • You take the lead in obtaining a “zero accident” work environment.
  • You supervise all the periodical controls and inspections related to H&S.
  • You steer the implementation of new H&S procedures and tools, in close collaboration with the Prevention Advisor and the QHSE Manager.

Your profile 

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • You have several years of experience in a similar position in industrial production. Experience in the building materials industry is a plus.
  • You are a genuine people manager and know how to motivate people at all levels of the organization.
  • You have a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.
  • You are flexible to visit the different sites on a weekly basis.
  • You are fluent in Flemish and are able to work in French.

    • You are responsible for implementing ONE MAESTRO, the Group’s HSE Management Systems Framework, in the subsidiaries of your area.
    • You support the affiliates in several missions, such as the annual reviews of the IMS and internal audits.
    • You participate in the affiliates’ accident investigations, analyses, REX (Return on Experience) and are responsible for the methodology used.

  • Participation in station construction and renovation projects: You drive the HSEQ qualification of service providers and the performance of audits of contractors in your area. You provide HSEQ expertise in the station projects and offer support during high-risk operations.
  • HSE training and support: You identify and follow the HSE training needs of the affiliates and propose the implementation of training in your area. You identify the risks linked to the distribution of new energies for mobility (EV, hydrogen, …).
  • Internal HSEQ tools: You ensure the proper use and storage of documents as well as the development, the implementation and the proper use of HSEQ tools.

Your profile 

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering or HSEQ-related field.
  • You have a couple of years of experience working in HSEQ, whether on corporate level or for a consulting firm.
  • You ideally have experience with Integrated Management Systems, with a focus on Safety.
  • You are professionally proficient in Flemish, French and English.
  • You are rigorous, work methodically and you have sound analytical skills.
  • Active communication, versatility, listening skills and curiosity are your strengths.
  • You are able to work in a multinational and cross-functional environment.
  • You are flexible for frequent traveling (+-2 days/week) across Belgium. Around 10% of the time is spent in the countries of your area and in France, for meetings with the HSEQ team at the headquarters.
